The small island of Malta has experienced centuries of being besieged, conquered, claimed from afar, and bargained away. What is left today are reminders that kingdoms are illusory, full of relics that remind the current day of past fantasies to quell turmoil and bring new influences to an ancient island. Its beauty endures, but not the imaginary kingdoms that aspired to rule it.
